Cave of Romito is a site dating back to the Palaeolithic period
containing one of the oldest examples of prehistoric art in Italy,
and one of the most important in Europe, located in the village
in the municipality of Papasidero Nuppolara, in Calabria, the
province of Cosenza. Inside are some rock engravings, among which
the most important is a graffiti depicting two cattle (Bos primigenius),
and traces of ancient tombs, dating back to 10,500 years ago.
